| Don't even ask me not to go
I wish I could
Could leave, could go
Could go nowhere, go alone
Go to the place
With no return…
But I can’t go
Because I’m stuck
I’m fixed
I’m pined
By sticky nail
I can not go
I am - propeller! | |

| Hi all! I've got a problem: I should make a short presentation about my favourite song. I already found the song but unfortunately I don't have much to tell about it and besides this my English is anything but perfect. And I REALLY need a good mark and it's my only hope to get it. So please, if anybody has some ideas to the following text, help me!!!
Just the other night and a hometown football game
My wife and I ran into my old high school flame
And as I introduced them the past came back to me
And I couldn't help but think of the way things used to be
She was the one that I'd wanted for all times
And each night I'd spend prayin' that God would make her mine
And if he'd only grant me this wish I wished back then
I'd never ask for anything again
CHORUS:
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers
She wasn't quite the angel that I remembered in my dreams
And I could tell that time had changed me
In her eyes too it seemed
We tried to talk about the old days
There wasn't much we could recall
I guess the Lord knows what he's doin' after all
And as she walked away I looked at my wife
And then and there I thanked the good Lord
For the gifts in my life
CHORUS:
Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you're talkin' to the man upstairs
That just because he may not answer doesn't mean he don't care
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered...
Some of God's greatest gifts are all too often unanswered...
Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers
I think he tries to say that it's better that some of our wishes aren't granted because it could really make us unhappy but we need very long time to realise this. We shouldn't be angry or disappointed if something doesn't work the way we want, probably someone just want to protect us.
That's all I've got to say but it's not enough, the presentation should last at least five minutes.
I wonder how many grammar mistakes did I make here? | |

| May be this will help
Sometimes when your younger you think you know exactly what is right for you and what you need, you get all distraught when things don't turn out the way that you want them to. It's not until you get older that a chance encounter or an overheard word makes you look back on your previous life, not through the rose tinted glasses that you used to view it with, but with a brutal honesty. When you realise that you were not the all knowing, all seeing wonderful person that you envisaged yourself to be and that, what you think of as the perfect chance that you missed, is after all a narrow escape from disaster!
